Oma Goodness!
Austrian Magic in an English Kitchen
Written by Rosl Schatzberger, with a foreword by Victoria Wood and illustrated by Yvonne Wise, this is a collection of the author's favourite recipes, most of which are typical of Austrian family cooking. Rosl spent her childhood in pre-war Vienna, and along with the 200 or so recipes shares fascinating anecdotes and memories spanning some 70 years. Jessica George, the inspiration behind Jessie's Fund, was Rosl's granddaughter and called her 'Oma' - the Austrian word for Granny - hence the book's title. All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to Jessie's Fund, the charity which helps seriously ill or disabled children to communicate by using music.
