Fundraising for Jessie's Fund
Your events are really important to Jessie's Fund. A big proportion of our income comes from people's fundraising efforts, and we're always delighted, no matter how large or small your event or activity is. Please let us know if you're planning an event - we can list it on this website, as well as in our newsletter, and send you support materials. You can even have your own fundraising webpage. As well as the well known sponsored events (London Marathon, Great North Run etc.), people have supported us with:
- swimming 60 high tarns in the Lake District
- walking from Land's End to John O'Groats walk (with a trombone!)
- organising 24 hour music marathons
- walking the Pennine Way
- learning a new instrument as an adult and taking an exam
- cycling from York to Amsterdam and back
- taking part in 'Grade One-athons'

We always appreciate it when schools choose Jessie's Fund as their 'Charity of the Year'. We can send you a fundraising pack with ideas, posters, a DVD etc. All through the year there can be fun events and challenges, and we can come and talk to the school about our work with children. Here’s a new and enjoyable way of raising funds. Go to www.dinner4good.com/jessiesfund, spend just a few minutes setting up your own dinner page, and then invite friends using the automated system.
When your guests receive the email invitations they can visit your dinner page, see who's coming, what you’re planning to cook (if you choose to include that information), and how much has been raised so far. By asking for donations via the website it removes the awkwardness of asking friends in person to help you fundraise. The amounts people donate (which can be as modest or generous as your guests choose) can be kept private, thus avoiding embarrassment altogether. And over dinner you could tell your guests all about Jessie's Fund, so maybe they'll hold their own dinner in the future!
Performances
As a charity with a lot of musical contacts, we enjoy the fact that much support comes through concerts. These range from school concerts and plays to professional performances. Not only do these raise money for us, but they are also a fantastic way of 'spreading the word'. We can send you an insert to put into your programme for the performance, along with leaflets and posters.

eBay for Jessie's Fund
If you are selling things on eBay you can choose to donate a percentage of your selling price to Jessie's Fund: this is done in the section where you are asked to give your starting price. A great incentive to clear out all those things you don't need, and charity items usually receive more bids and higher sales prices than other items!
