Who's Who in Jessie's Fund |

Victoria Wood

Victoria needs little introduction. She is a multi-talented stand-up comedian, actress, and writer who has won many awards for her wide-ranging work.
She says 'What I love about music is we don't know what it is, how it works, and it doesn't matter. It's all about totally personal response, it helps us find out who we are, and we all deserve that, however many days we're given.' |

Mary has known Jessie's family since meeting Lesley and Alan through music in the 1980s. She is a counsellor of young people with a special interest in creative ways of communicating. The work of Jessie's Fund is particularly inspiring for her since it is a communication beyond words. |

 |
Rebecca Howard
Trustee
I am a housewife at a rather unusual house, and mother to young twins Merlin and Octavia. Having worked as an historical researcher, primarily in the field of 18th and 19th century Balkan Politics, I moved careers into the world of classical music, organising concerts and recitals - something I would very much like to continue at Castle Howard. Having played the piano from the age of four, and now beginning to sit down with my own children at the keyboard, I can totally understand and applaud the tremendous work and achievements of Jessie's Fund. |

|
Lesley Schatzberger
Development Director
Lesley is a clarinettist, having been involved in a wide range of music-making - from working with Stockhausen in his chamber group to touring extensively with orchestras such as the English Baroque Soloists and the Academy of Ancient Music. Following the death of Jessie, her daughter, she increasingly turned her energies towards running Jessie's Fund. In 2006 she was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of York. |

Karen has supported Lesley in the office as the charity's part-time Administrator since 2001. During that time, she has also qualified as a French-English translator, and worked privately as an English tutor. As a music-lover and mother of two children busy learning their own musical instruments, she is keenly aware of the importance of the services Jessie's Fund provides and is delighted to be able to contribute to its success. |
