Songs to Sing

The first rule is sing and sing whatever you like. Good sources of songs may include:

  • Well known traditional children's songs.
  • Songs featured in films or television programmes.
  • Well known pop songs and karaoke.
  • Songs that are known in your school.
  • Songs that include actions or develop speech.
  • Songs with lots of repetition.
  • Specially written songs from published collections such as Okki-Tokki-Unga, Apusskidu (both published by A & C Black), or Hello Children, published by Schotts.
  • Songs you like.
  • Songs your pupils like.

  • Hey Dumba

A beautiful song from Brazil about the sound of water in the rainforest. Be patient - it starts so quietly that you may not hear it at first.
